Turtles
Lights out for nesting season starts May 1st!

Trash
The beach was quite clean, to include no seaweed or seashells.  Still, picked up this trash in the short walk (1/2 mile) between Beach Woods and Sandy Shoes Hotel. It was super-windy already  (we've had tornado warnings for the last 2 hours).

Treasures

We call them Sentinels, not seagulls.  They guard the beach, each one having their own territory to protect.  They have been known to glare at strangers and escort them off the beach.

This great blue heron is about to flirt with those fishing poles. #UnrequitedLove

Sunday nap.

Beach Art?  Voodoo?  Not sure.

New life springing from dried seaweed.

Fitbit passively-aggressively inspired me to take long walks on the beach. Sometimes to look for turtles or turtle tracks, sometimes just for exercise. To misquote Han Solo in A New Hope: "I've walked from one end of this beach to the other.  I've seen a lot of strange stuff."  I've seen turtles, trash, and treasures.  This is their story.
